The Original Spartans started as a High School Rock Group playing local Military Clubs and teen school dances. After graduation, Bob Nigg and Gary Craig joined up with Gary Graham, who lived the resort town of Lake of the Ozarks. The three found a local drummer named Scotty Stryker and began playing at the Casablanca, local clubs and events as well as college towns in Missouri where they were well received. Ed Craig joined the group in 1964 as the keyboard player after he returned from attending school in Germany. Over time, the Spartans developed into a very tight Rock and Roll band. If they were going to make anything serious happen with their efforts, it would happen in Los Angeles. The photo you see here was just days before they packed up and headed west to find their destiny.
